Project Description
Fix The City, local businesses and local residents of Council District 5 recognize the need for emergency shelter for the homeless combined with related services.
Faced with the “done deal,” ill-conceived Pico/Midvale project which would only serve 33 people while harming local business and creating safety issues, the Fix The City and the community sought out a better option.
This is one such proposed alternate site for interim shelter housing

- Room for 119 Trailers (114×13’, 6×21’)
- Can use previously LA purchased campers (covid/LARP)
- $20,000 list price if no City trailers available
- Fronts only City property
- Zero residential impact
- Zero business impact
- Already site of heavy encampments
- L.A. already has experience from LARP Covid Response
- No expensive infrastructure
- Supportive services uses larger RVs
- No through traffic, city vehicles only, increased safety.
