{"id":215,"date":"2015-11-25T16:23:58","date_gmt":"2015-11-26T00:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fixthecity.org\/?p=215"},"modified":"2015-11-25T16:23:58","modified_gmt":"2015-11-26T00:23:58","slug":"ftc-letter-and-brief-commentary-re-todays-council-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fixthecity.org\/?p=215","title":{"rendered":"FTC Letter and Brief Commentary re Today&#8217;s Council Vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FTC&#8217;s counsel provided the following <a href=\"http:\/\/clkrep.lacity.org\/onlinedocs\/2015\/15-0719-S11_pc_11-25-15.pdf\">letter <\/a>in advance of today&#8217;s city council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>As is evident, not only did the city not correct its previous improper actions, it created even more problems.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, in a time when politicians wonder why fewer and fewer people are voting, today&#8217;s action might provide some insight.<\/p>\n<p>By scheduling this controversial item (MP2035) the day before Thanksgiving, when most people are traveling to family, cooking for family or just being with family, the City Council has again shown its disdain for the public and the law.<\/p>\n<p>This so very clearly shows the council doesn&#8217;t want public involvement and is taking action to discourage public involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Is it any wonder that the public sees less and less value in voting?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FTC&#8217;s counsel provided the following letter in advance of today&#8217;s city council meeting.
